To improve security even more, the CHN program was expanded last year to provide a foot patrol in the area around the 86th Street subway station weekday afternoons and evenings. The foot patrol has been an added deterent, and every effort is being made to turn this pilot program into a continuing supplement to the NYPD coverage.
